ScHoolboy Q’s “Oxymoron Tour”

Quincy Matthew Hanley, the rapper known as “ScHoolboy Q” is touring the country to promote his new album “Oxymoron”, which released February 25th. Q’s Album had the daunting task of following up Kendrick Lamar’s critically acclaimed & grammy nominated “good kid, m.A.A.d city” on the Interscope and TDE labels.I had the good fortune of traveling to Columbia, Missouri this past week to view the show for myself.

Let me tell you, this show did not disappoint. A surprise appearance by rap duo “Audio Push” started the night off with a bang. They performed their underground hits ” ‘Tis The Season” and “Grinding My Whole Life”. Next to grace the stage was Vince Staples, a rapper that is on the verge of a break through project. He’s collaborated with the likes of Mac Miller, Earl Sweatshirt, and more and had  great presence while on stage. Up-and-coming TDE rapper Isaiah Rashad was the final opening act, and I was lucky enough to get a picture with him after the show.

Finally, it was Q’s turn. The following hours consisted of numerous crowd surfs and a seemingly endless mosh pit. Bangers like “Gangsta” and “The Purge”  caused the crowd to erupt, while the hit “Man of the Year” served as the climax of the concert. Q decimated the venue, and fans left sweaty, but satisfied.

“Groovy Q” sold out every city he has performed in thus far and will be touring Europe in weeks to come.
