NCAA Tournament Bracket Watch

It’s NCAA Tournament time again, as the 68-team bracket will come out on Sunday. There are a lot of interesting storylines this year, with the last number one seed and the bubble teams.

Florida, Arizona and Wichita State are basically locks now to be number one seeds in the bracket, with the last number one seed up for grabs. Joe Lunardi projected it to be Villanova before the conference tournaments began this week, but they lost their first game in the Big East tournament to Seton Hall on Thursday. Lunardi is still projecting them to be a number one seed, but other teams are on the horizon.

Kansas is another team that could take that spot if they could win the Big 12 Tournament. Michigan and Wisconsin also have a shot at it, with very good strength of schedule ratings.

Joe Lunardi’s last four teams in the tournament, as of Friday, are Saint Joseph’s, Dayton, BYU, and Providence. BYU is ranked 35 in the RPI poll, while Dayton is ranked 38. Minnesota and Florida State are the first two teams out of the tournament in Lunardi’s projections. Both teams won in their tournaments yesterday, keeping their hopes alive of getting a bid.

This weekend should show a lot of who should earn a spot in the big dance.
