For the second year in a row, Shawnee Mission West and Shawnee Mission South have competed for one week, leading up to the Viking vs. Raider basketball game at South, by purchasing a chicken sandwich and telling workers what school they were from, at the local Chick-Fil-A. The school earning the most money and business, would hold the traveling Coaches vs. Cancer contest trophy, until the competition the next year.

The competition was pretty intense this year. From twitter, to some friendly rivalries among the two schools, the students didn’t fail to bring the heat. Last year, South went away with the victory, leaving the competition with the traveling trophy. West had hoped to walk away with the win this year, but unfortunately fell short. The Coaches vs. Cancer event will continue when South travels to West to play in the Staff Charity Basketball game on Friday, February 15th. Although these two schools would do anything to beat one another, they both have come together to support a serious cause.
