This year, the boys basketball team will be competing in the annual Championship Showdown presented by Sports Medicine & Performance Center by The University of Kansas Hospital, going on through December 11-13 at SM East High School. On thursday the boys varsity basketball team will face St. John Vianney, a team based in St. Louis, MO. If they win on Thursday, they get to play on friday at 8:30 pm, and a loss to St. John Vianney would result in the vikings playing at 5:30 instead. Friday’s game could be a very intense game for vikings if SM East beats St. James Academy and if the vikings win on Thursday as well. The heated rivalry between the Lancers and Vikings is a game that should be high in attendance as well as emotion. If the vikings win on Thursday and Friday, they will be in the Championship game on Saturday at 5:00 pm.
