It’s time to Take the Pledge to Not Text and Drive and compete to win some money for our football program! The McCarthy Auto Group and PrepsKC are putting on a competition to see which school can get the most pledges to not text and drive. In April of 2013, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) recorded that for drivers of ages 15-19 who were involved in serious car crashes, 21% of the drivers were distracted by the use of cell phones.

The school with the most pledges by October 31st will win $5,000 to go towards their school’s football program. West is currently in 9th place out of the top ten schools with the most pledges, with Blue Valley Southwest in 1st.
