Today was Shawnee Mission West’s first ever foreign language club Olympics. Participants included the Arabic, French, German, International, and Spanish clubs, who all fought valiantly for the inflatable trophy. Students shouted with excitement as they watched their teammates take part in games such as tug of war, water balloon toss, marshmallow relay, and the famed hula-hoop race (pictured).
Although every team performed gallantly, it was German Club who emerged victorious. Ashley Mercer, captain of the team, said of their victory: “We all played our hearts out, and it really shows our ferocity that we were able to get the win.”
