On Monday, August 26 fifth graders in the West area had a unique experience. They got the opportunity to come to West and get a look into the school’s orchestra program. And what was the best way to experience this? Not only getting to hear people play their own instruments, but they were able to try different instruments for themselves. The school’s orchestra is made up violin, viola, cello, and bass. The fifth graders got to try three out of the four. The bass is a large instrument and students typically don’t start playing it until middle school. The west band also had the same opportunities the same evening. Along with an informational meeting. Thanks to everyone who came and supported the band/orchestra program!
