Shawnee Mission has hosted the past half-century of the Research and Development Forum. This weekend is now looking forward to the future of this celebration of student achievement. This Sunday will be the 51st annual R and D Forum.
The Regnier family, who has supported the forum since its earliest days, announced a donation of about $375,000 to establish a fund, ensuring this important event will happen in Shawnee Mission to ensure that it will last.
Students show off their hard work and dedication at the forum and receive awards for their projects. In the 50-year tradition of the forum, students this year showed off their outstanding work in the areas of science, math, art, music, social studies, career and technical education, etc.
The Shawnee Mission West Baseball team puts in a few hours before the forum to set up and prepare the forum. They do this every year to earn a profit and help the showcase committee out.
Be sure to come out and support your Shawnee Mission kids and all their hard work.
