Recently from the State Department of Education, Shawnee Mission West was awarded the “Spotlight Award” as a Kansas School of Character.
A direct result of the implementation of the West Way, this award addresses and acknowledges how the program helps the social, emotional, and character of the students involved in the system.
A definite accomplishment, three of our very own West Way team coaches (Brogden, Perkins, Flora) will accept the award this upcoming May.
This award can only help but support the use of the program in the upcoming years, even under the administration of a new principal.
