Body odor is unfortunately very common in Shawnee Mission West. As people get older, they must realize that hygiene gets more and more important. Some students don’t understand that.
Most of the time, it’s not really their fault. It might be a natural thing or certain resources that they don’t have access to. Nonetheless, hygiene is very important in schools, which is one of the reasons why West has resources available to all students.
The odor that emanates from some people can be genuinely distracting at times and may hinder their success in schoolwork. I know that it personally affects me when I am doing my work and get a whiff of something awful from just across the room. It’s an epidemic. It can be stopped if people try hard enough and/or are able to get hygienic resources.
