West Loses Another Viking

Physical Education teacher Tim Bishop died of a heart attack Saturday night.

Physical Education teacher Tim Bishop died Saturday, February 15. He suffered from a heart attack in his home. Bishop was a Foundations of Physical Education and Team Games teacher. Along with his classes, Bishop coached the Boys and Girls Golf teams. He was a member of the PGA Association of gold and loved the sport.

“At this moment we don’t know who the new golf coach will be, but we’re definitely going to have a team this year. I’ve been on the golf team for the past three years and we’re all just so used to having him around as our coach. We will fight through this season for him,” Senior Corbin Warner said.

Counselor Dr. Leonard is talking to the PE classes about grieving and the different ways that people handle a loss.

“West has been grieving a lot this year. If anyone needs anything, they need to come into the counseling office. I ask students to support their teachers because a lot of them are close to Mr. Bishop and they will be grieving right now,” Dr. Leonard said.

Bishop is survived by his wife Dawn, and three children Blake, Luke, and Claire.
