American Psycho

Christian Bale gives the performance of a lifetime in this Mary Harron directed cult-classic. Bale plays a Wall Street yuppie who begins to lose grip on reality, as he continues to murder people on a nightly basis. The film’s use of dark comedy is what makes the film so special; it’s hard to believe watching a man brutally butcher people and practice misogyny could be so hilarious. The film is also a social commentary on the greed and arrogance of the yuppie culture during the 1980s. When “American Psycho” was first released, it never reached an audience; it was only until the last five years or so that the film has reached it’s full potential.
