The canned food drive is November 4th to November 22nd. Their are many ways to participate this year! All the cans and donations go to the Johnson County Christmas Bureau. This provides holiday assistance to low income residents of Johnson County, Kansas. In 2012, JCCB helped 12,965 individuals representing 3,461 families and 642 nursing home residents.

“The amount of donations they have been getting has been declining in the past years, so it is really important to participate and give back”, Junior Juliane Francia said.

This year, we are over 500 cans with just FCCLA’s Safe Trick or Treat, the Car Smash, and StuCo’s Trick or Treat for Cans. The goal this year is to reach 10,000 cans. For the next two weeks, we will be collecting cans in your 1st block. The winner of the class that donates the most cans will earn a breakfast that StuCo will provide. It is 1 point per can and 2 points per dollar donated. There are Bonus Days that will help classes boost their total!
