Professional Women’s League

Kansas City is now home of “The Kansas City Blues”.

The “Blues” are a part of the new National Women’s Soccer League.  The newly formed league features National Team stars such as Alex Morgan, Abby Wambach, and other noteworthy names.

This being the first season, there is a lot of hype surrounding the sport.  Now that there is a Professional League, women’s soccer is now a pertinent conversation in the country.

Senior, Sydney Miramontez said, “I think that it is a really positive opportunity for Kansas City to have a women’s professional team to inspire young female athletes.”

The “Blues” play all of their home games at Shawnee Mission District Activity Complex located at Shawnee Mission North.

“Watching people you see on TV, and then seeing them play in person is a really good experience.  It gives you something to strive for,” said Senior, Morgan Shupe.

The new team is a positive addition to the Kansas City area.
