Effective for the 2011-2012 year, Shawnee Mission schools will now adopt the uniform schedule for all to follow. A shift towards fewer block classes will help the ultimate goal of lowering budget costs. East, North, Northwest, South and West took up the Northwest schedule as a suitable compromise. The decision was made official around the beginning of January.
