When thinking about our school and all the amazing accomplishments and people that come from this place, it’s nearly impossible to not think of the remarkable cross country runner Alli Cash. Alli has had a very long list of accomplishments at West, with her most recent being a first place state medal at Rim Rock course in Lawrence, KS. She finished with an individual time of 14:02, which was more than a whole entire minute faster than the second place runner. This was her second time running at Rim Rock this year; her first time being earlier in the season and setting a course record of 13:59. Breaking 14 minutes on any course through out the season is almost unheard of and is a direct correlation of Alli’s hard work and dedication to the sport she loves.

Along the top of the pack was medalist, and sixth place finisher, Jillian Benson. With remarkable efforts from the two runners finishing in the top sixth of the field, and a good overall team race, West completed the day with a very impressive 3rd place finish as a team only behind Garden City and Olathe East.
