Heart of the West Week has been a tradition at west for a long time now. This event takes place around Valentine’s Day and leads up to The WPA Sweetheart Dance on Feb 14th. This year, The Heart of West Week will be February 9th-13th. The week includes the opportunity to purchase results from the match maker surveys, the teacher pep assembly, spirit week and WPA sweetheart crowning at the Boy’s Basketball game on Friday.
Match Makers:
Match maker survey results will be available to purchase on the bridge during all lunches. There are three different sheets available.

3 sheets + $5
Pep Assembly:
The teacher pep assembly will take place Monday morning at 7:40 in the main gym. Teachers will be perform a dance along with Dance Team and preform funny skits.
Spirit week:
Monday: PJ Day
wear your comfiest pajamas to start off the week and don’t forgot to attend the teacher pep assembly!
Tuesday: Tacky Tuesday
wear the tackiest clothes you own, such as mix matched patterns, old fashion trends and shoulder pads.
Wednesday: College day
Get decked out in your favorite college spirit wear!
Thursday: Greek or Geek
Dress nerdy, preppy or wear a toga!
Friday: Wild Wild West
Wear western attire such as cowboy boots and flannel or in black and gold!
Sweetheart Crowning:
The top 12 sweetheart candidates will walk during halftime of the Boys varsity basketball game on friday the 13th. Be sure to be there and don’t forget to vote for your favorites!
