There will be no school for students on Wednesday, Feb. 2 due to inclement weather. The snow storm that hit the Midwest on Tuesday, Feb. 1 may be remembered in history as one of the largest, as it has affected almost a third of people in the United States. The blizzard warning that was issued on that day also marked just the second time that Kansas has issued such a warning in their history.
The storm, which began at around 1:00 am last night, has continued and increased since then. According to The Weather Channel, there is a 100 percent chance of snow continuing until later tonight. Lenexa and Overland Park have received an approximate of 10 inches of snow so far, with that number to quickly increase with the rapid snow fall. All school activities for tonight have been canceled, along with tomorrow’s activities.
