A long football season finally came to an end after 13 games today. The Vikings (11-1) final game the 6A State Championship against the Hutchinson Salthawks (10-2) was held in Topeka, KS. Led by the starting quarterback AJ Verdini and senior tailback Brett Sterbach, the Vikings were able to pull a 19 to 14 win over the Salthawks. Junior Andre Maloney and senior Kez Demby helped make this second half comeback from a 14 to 6 deficit possible. The Vikings had not won a state title since 1985.
